MOLEG Discusses Cooperation Measures with the Faculty of Law and Political Science of National University of Laos
– The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of National University of Laos visited the Ministry of Government Legislation.
The Ministry of Government Legislation (MOLEG) (Minister Cho Won-cheol) announced that Somdeth Keovongsack, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of National University of Laos, visited MOLEG to discuss measures to enhance cooperation between the two organizations on February 20.
This visit was designed to strengthen cooperation in the field of legislation between Korea and Laos. The National University of Laos is the country's only national university, and its Faculty of Law and Political Science is a key educational institution that has produced numerous legal professionals and high-ranking public officials.
Our legislative cooperation with Laos was first established in 2012 when the Vice Minister of Justice of Laos visited Korea. This cooperation was further strengthened in 2016 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between MOLEG and the Ministry of Justice of Laos. During this visit, we talked about measures for practical cooperation between the two organizations, including personnel exchanges and sharing of legislative knowledge.
"Korea and Laos have established trust-based cooperative relations," said Minister Cho Won-cheol. "Through further cooperation with the Faculty of Law and Political Science of National University of Laos, we will endeavor to elevate legislative cooperation between the two countries to the next level and build a sustained partnership."
